Literature Discussion

Summary
Today was a short day.  We met all of the nutrition students at the front of the hospital before moving to a lab/classroom.  We began by learning how to take blood pressure, glucose levels, and analyzing urine.  Once we knew how to do the above activities we did hands on practice until we were confident in our skills.

Detailed Account
The above was our lecture for the day, because we ended early we decided to go to the Bloemfontein zoo.  Upon arrival we realized there were only 4 cars in the parking lot and the zoo looked dead.  We had previously heard that there were no new animals so it was not that great of a zoo.  I was determined to make the best of it and we certainly did!

We thought the zoo was wonderful! There were lions, zebra, birds of all sorts, jaguars, cheetahs, etc.  We even got to feed an elephant (one of the best things I've done since I've been here).  Tortoises roamed the grounds and since it was so desolate we had the zoo to ourselves.  If you are not from around here the zoo is a must!
